Kathleen G., Survivor
Hacienda Heights, California

My name is Kathleen.  When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, things seemed to follow that added to the bad news I received.  Within a few days after that, I lost my job and my medical insurance.  Because I was under the age of 50 and had no children, I did not qualify for any of the programs being offered by the state.  I would call one place and they would refer me to another until I ran out of options.
Just when I thought that I had lost all hope one of my family members met, Christine and Tillie from "Time For A Cure" in front of a local Wal-Mart.  My family explained my situation to them and received some brochures and flyers to take back to me along with their phone numbers to call.
But more than that, Christine and Tillie reached out to me and offered their assistance and friendship every step of the way.  Time For A Cure was there for me when I had questions on
who to call for help or just when I needed to talk to keep them updated on my treatments.  They called on me to check my progress.
"I would not have received treatment for my cancer in time for a cure without their help and support.
I am now cancer free and I can now look forward
to getting on with my life.

Thank you Christine and Tillie and "Time For A Cure" for being there for me !

Anabell Espino was the winner of our pink ribbon basket from the womens expo held at the Anaheim

Convention Center.  Anabell and her sister Jasmine both visited our booth.  They have been supporters of the cause since their aunt was diagnosed 16 years ago. Both are active in walks for the cure.  When asked if they are doing their monthly self breast exams, they said "absolutely", a pair of women in charge of their health.

A great big thanks to them both for their support !
