Time For A Cure ®

It's a journey of two friends, the way each has always been there for one another and how breast cancer changed both of their lives. It is how it made their friendship even stronger than it was before. What they do together today has made a difference not only in their lives but  in the lives of others around the world.

In 1993, Tillie lost her mother to breast cancer.  Mom had no follow up treatments and in the five year period it had metastasized to every part of her precious body.  Of course our concern was that Tillie would be at risk for this most devastating disease, however . . .

In 1996, much to our surprise Christine was diagnosed with breast cancer after finding a lump during her monthly self breast exam.  The early diagnosis allowed her to choose a breast sparing lumpectomy followed by 6 months of chemotherapy and 36 radiation treatments. We had learned the hard way, that when you are diagnosed with breast cancer you need to do any and all treatments recommended to you by your medical team. She spent a year battling breast cancer and is now an "12 year survivor". 

When Christine was done with her treatments, Tillie  said "you deserve a medal", that was the inspiration for our "Breast Cancer Survivor Medal".

Thousands of survivors wear this medal to show the world women can and do survive breast cancer (see our  Survivor Medal page).

That is what, Time For A Cure®, is all about early detection, treatment and lots of faith.  We reach and teach women each and every day of each and every year about the importance of early detection and how it can and does save lives.  how they can be a survivor with an early diagnosis when breast cancer is in the earliest stages, when it is the most treatable.
